Healing the home with Feng Shui

Flying Stars – Feng Shui Chart

When a home has it’s heart totally gutted and rebuilt, its energy changes. That’s feng shui.

We’re about to rebuild our home after a fire and I have been busying myself with several feng shui charts and resource materials.

Not only do I intend to consult energy philosophy theories, I am planning the placement of bedrooms and interior traffic patterns around these beliefs. I’m a huge promoter of Sacred Homes and know that intention, symbolism and placement of walls, windows and furniture is the earthly equivalent of the chi movement that we stimulate in yoga and acupuncture.

Make no mistake, I am not talking about surface feng shui where one adds a crystal, wind chime or Asian trinket, I am referring to traditionally studied land, time and directional affiliations. I’m a bit of an expert. I produced and co hosted an international TV series on the subject.

I already know the land around my home because we lived in it for a decade.  I am familiar with the energy patterns and intensity of the incoming light and how breezes blow into the house. Now the overall feeling inside the house will be changed, reborn and triggered by all the construction trades that will be going through the building, the actions they are doing and the selection of shapes of materials we’ll eventually choose. Do you understand?…. imagine the feeling of a 100 year old house; they tend to have darker wood, smaller windows, structured rooms…. and than… imagine how you feel inside a totally new structure; they’re more open, lighter, sleeker….It’s different and you can sense it, smell it and experience it.

Happily, I have discovered that the best possible chi/prana/qi/life force will come unrestricted through our front door, flow up and around the open concept – centre hall staircase and bring healing potential to a few of the more problematic areas that I have planned to close off and delegate function to that of being, bathrooms & closets.  This is not to say that by identifying and manipulating the feng shui of our home, will guarantee that our lives will be super spectacular, only that we can anticipate best potential.  Think of feng shui as you would the reading of monthly astrology or biorhythm posts.

The heavenly or astrological luck you are born into, the kind of life you lead and how and where you dwell are the DNA of who you are.  Feng Shui is no longer an Ancient Chinese Secret.
